Wild season for Tribe, Bucs

Mahoning Valley baseball fans are experiencing something that has never happened before in history – both the Cleveland Indians and the Pittsburgh Pirates are playing baseball in October at the same time.

Though both franchises have had their share of postseason success since postseason play began in 1903, the two have never played in October at the same time.

Tonight, the Pittsburgh Pirates battle division rival Cincinnati for the right to advance to the National League Division Series against the St. Louis Cardinals. First pitch is at 8:07 p.m.

On Monday night, the Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Texas Rangers, 5-2, to earn the right to travel to Cleveland to take on the Indians in the American League Wild Card game.

The two teams will take the field Wednesday night, also at 8:07.
