Girl reports assault, shots

WARREN – City police were called to investigate two incidents this week involving the same 16-year-old girl.

On Wednesday, officers went to the area of South Feederle Drive S.E. to investigate a complaint of gunshots, according to a Warren police report. Police said they were flagged down by a male who stated that someone had just shot at his apartment.

Police said they followed him to a South Feederle home, where they spoke with the resident. Tequila Williamson told them that a male she knows drove by the apartment around 7 p.m. and shot at it. Williamson told police she was across the street at the time, reports state.

Police said they spoke with her 16-year-old daughter, who told them she had been standing outside when a car pulled up in front of her apartment, and someone she recognized pointed a gun out the driver’s side window.

The girl told police she ran into her apartment and heard two gunshots just before the car sped off.

She told police she was not sure in which direction the shots were fired because she was in the apartment at the time, reports state.

Police said they checked the apartment but were not able to locate any damage and could not locate any shell casings outside, but noted that the girl had stated the individual had remained in the car during the incident.

Earlier in the day, just after noon, the same girl told police she had been assaulted between 8 and 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police provided no other information about that complaint. The police report indicates the girl suffered a minor injury, but did not specify what.
