Former clerk faced with drug charge
WARREN – A 42-year-old former county deputy clerk of courts pleaded not guilty Friday to a 13-count secret indictment charging her with ”doctor shopping.”
Stella J. Coletti, of Deer Creek Trail in Cortland, was free on $5,000 personal bond pending a pre-trial hearing Nov. 13 before Common Pleas Judge W. Wyatt McKay.
Coletti faces one count each of illegal processing of drug documents and deception to obtain a dangerous drug, both fourth-degree felonies. She also was charged with 11 counts of a third-degree felony version of deception to obtain a dangerous drug.
Prosecutors said an investigation by Trumbull-Ashtabula Group Law Enforcement Task Force revealed Coletti attempted from March through December 2012 to use various doctors to get Focalin, a Schedule II drug that has the effects of amphetamines.
Coletti was sentenced in December 2007 to four years probation and ordered to pay back $6,689 that she stole as a backup bookkeeper with the county’s Auto Title Division of the clerk of Courts Office.
In that case she pleaded guilty to a third-degree felony of theft in office.
