Man guilty in fatal stomping
WARREN – The city man accused of beating and stomping his ex-girlfriend’s father to death pleaded guilty Thursday to involuntary manslaughter in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
The charge against Jarred Watson, 28, was reduced from the original murder charge in a plea agreement. He is facing three to 11 years in prison.
A pre-sentence investigation is to be completed before he is sentenced by Common Pleas Judge Ronald Rice.
Trumbull County Coroner Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk said George Myers, 57, of Dickey Avenue N.W. died after the June 6 beating from multiple blunt force traumatic injuries. Police said it appeared he was beaten to death with a blunt object and may have been stomped to death.
Watson has been held in Trumbull County Jail in lieu of $1 million bond, but Rice revoked the bond Thursday.
