Mom, kids held at gunpoint

WARREN – A 23-year-old Brier Street S.E. woman was robbed by two masked gunmen in front of her two small children on Saturday.

It is the second home invasion involving a mother and her children reported in the city in less than a month.

Brigit D. Scott said the men entered her residence through a side door about 6 p.m., according to a Warren police report. Scott reported that the men held her, her 4-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter at gunpoint. The men took two Xbox 360 video game systems and $1,000 cash, the police report stated. Scott told police that she did not know the men.

No injuries were reported.

Attempts by a Tribune Chronicle reporter to reach Scott through contact information included on the police report were not successful. A man, who would not identify himself, answered her cell phone and said Scott was not accepting any phone calls, had no comment and did not want to be bothered.
