Cops: Robbers force woman into closet
WARREN – A 33-year-old woman told city police three masked men, one of whom pointed a gun at her and demanded money, broke into her Clearwater Street home while she was showering early Wednesday morning.
The woman told police she heard a loud noise coming from her living room around 12:30 a.m. When she came out of the bathroom, wearing a towel, she saw three men, dressed all in black and wearing black ski masks, standing in her bedroom, according to a police report.
The report states that one of the men pointed a gun at her and asked her where her money was. When she said she didn’t have any money, he punched her in the side of the head and she fell onto the bed, the police report states.
Her hands were then tied with a bra, the towel she had been wearing was placed over her head and she was told to get into the closet, which she did, according to the report. The man told her several times not to look at them, she reported.
She told police she heard one of the men say “just shoot her.”
She told police she stayed in the closet for about 10 minutes, but could not breath anymore because of the towel over her head, according to the report. She didn’t hear anyone in the house so she opened the closet door and ran out of the house to a neighbor’s, the report said.
Police noted the front door, including the frame, was damaged. Police reported that the only thing stolen was the woman’s cell phone.
