Tue. 11:07 a.m.: Family escapes house fire in Hubbard

HUBBARD — The Eagle Joint Fire District responded to a fully engaged house fire 12:36 a.m. today at 627 Moore St. that also caught their automobile on fire.

The family escaped the home without injury after awakened by a passer-by, who also called 911, firefighters said.

Heavy smoke and fire were coming from the home when firefighters arrived, according to the fire report.

An elderly woman at 635 Moore St. Moore St., which was next door, called the department concerned that her house also would catch fire. She was taken from her home while the firefighters fought the flames at 627 Moore St.

The department had the fire under control by 1:12 a.m. The Lake to River Red Cross was called to provide assistance to the family.
