Mon. 11:47 a.m.: Two Warren women rescued after vehicle plunges over embankment

WARREN — Two women were taken to Trumbull Regional Medical Center early this morning after the white Cadillac Escalade in which they were traveling went off the road near Highland Avenue and Front Street and dropped 25 to 30 feet into the water, according to a police report.

Pamela Davis, 61, 1417 Front St., and her sister, Shirley M. Harris, 33, 339 Chestnut NE, Warren, were traveling south on Highland Avenue just after midnight when they turned east and went off of an embankment into the water, a police report states.

According to a Trumbull County 911 recording, Davis told dispatchers they were forced off the road by another vehicle. The car was filling with water when they called 911.

Warren fire Chief Ken Nuzzle said the women were out of the Escalade and on an embankment when fire crews arrived. Firefighters used a Stokes Basket to pull the women up the embankment to emergency vehicles.
