WARREN – A former employee at the Trumbull County Department of Job and Family Services who gave friends and family more benefits than they deserved was placed on 30-days house arrest when she was sentenced today in court.

Amy Clauss, 43, of Gretchen Drive NE, Warren, was also given on five years of probation, and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service and pay $11,000 in restitution to her former employer by Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Peter J. Kontos.

Clauss pleaded guilty in June to a charge of tampering with evidence. She was originally charged with forgery, theft in office and tampering with records.
