Wed. 7:55 p.m.: Greene man loses murder appeal

WARREN – A man from Greene who killed his wife inside their family home has lost an appeal of his murder conviction.

A three-judge panel of the 11th District Court Appeals called Ricky Green’s appeal “wholly frivolous” when they rejected his contention his attorney was ineffective, according to a ruling from the court.

Green claimed his attorney did not “perform an adversarial function” during plea talks and did not file a motion to suppress evidence in the case. He, however, “neither argues his plea was not knowingly and voluntarily entered, nor contends counsel’s alleged deficiencies caused his plea to be so entered,” the ruling states.

The court also found there were no errors in the case.
