Fri. 3:20 p.m.: GM Lordstown cuts second shift

LORDSTOWN – Workers leaving the Lordstown General Motors plant following this afternoon’s plantwide meeting told reporters the plant’s second shift has been eliminated.

This follows last year’s elimination of the third shift at the plant. About 3,000 workers had still been employed at the facility’s assembly and stamping plants.

Sales of the Lordstown-build Chevy Cruze have been falling for more than a year.
