Wed. 10:36 a.m.: Tornado sirens tested statewide this morning
The Ohio Emergency Management and the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness tested tornado sirens statewide this morning. The tones sounded at 9:50 a.m. on what was designated as Ohio tornado test day.
Schools and businesses were encouraged to run tornado safety drills at the same time sirens were tested across the state. But the Ohio Emergency Management Agency noted that schools are free to conduct their tests any time this month when it best fits their schedules.
The state also designated this week as Ohio’s Severe Weather Awareness Week and Flood Safety Awareness Week, with various events, activities and information putting put out.
