Wed. 3:36 p.m.: Former Lordstown volleyball coach labeled sex offender, given 18 months in prison

WARREN – Former Lordstown eighth-grade girls volleyball coach Richard Knox was sentenced today to 18 months in prison and labeled a Tier 2 sex offender for sexually assaulting two teenage girls on school property.

Knox pleaded guilty in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court to two felony counts each of importuning, pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and gross sexual imposition.

As a Tier 2 sex offender, Knox, upon his release from prison, is required to register his whereabouts and employment with the sheriff in his county of residence twice a year for the 25 years.
