Thur. 11:09 a.m.: Two woman face drug paraphernalia charges, found overdosed in Niles home

NILES – Two women are facing drug-related charges after police found drug paraphernalia in a home where they had overdosed, according to a police report.

Alaina Infante, 32, of Warren, and Andrea Sunderland, 31, of Niles, were both issued summons to appear in Niles Municipal Court on Monday on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after they were found unconscious just after 1 p.m. in an apartment at 112 Maple St., the report states.

Police Chief Jay Holland said it’s rare to encounter two people overdosing at the same time, although it has happened before. Holland said Ohio law provides immunity from misdemeanor or fifth degree felony drug possession charges for those who overdose, but not paraphernalia, OVI or child endangering charges in connection to a drug overdose.
