Fri. 12:56 p.m.: Three arrested in connection to Austintown home invasion

AUSTINTOWN – Police arrested three men accused of invading a home and holding people at gunpoint while posing as agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency.

Michael Doepker, 24, of North Kimberly Avenue, was arrested on charges of aggravated burglary, kidnapping, carrying a concealed weapon and tampering with evidence.

Noah Matheny, 21, of New Road, was arrested on charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and kidnapping.

Mark Hernandez, 21, of Youngstown, was arrested on charges of complicity to aggravated robbery, robbery and kidnapping.

Police are still looking for a fourth man believed to be involved and gathering evidence to tie him to the incident, police Chief Bob Gavalier said.

The men are accused of forcing their way into 47 N. Beverly Ave. around 4 a.m. and acting like federal drug agents, Gavalier said. One of the men was carrying an assault rifle and two others had handguns, Gavalier said.
