Thu. 4:35 p.m.: Water may be in parts of Niles tonight

NILES — Water service might be temporarily interrupted starting at 11 p.m. today in the Robbins Avenue and McKinley Heights area as crews work to repair a leaking water line, the city reported.

Service Director Ed Stredney said an 8-inch water line that probably services several hundred homes is leaking and the decision to work on the line at 11 p.m. rather than during the day was made to cause as little inconvenience to residents as possible should water need to be shut off during the repair, he said.

Stredney said he expects the work to be done by 4 a.m. Friday.
