Mon. 2:30 p.m.: Power outage reported in Cortland
CORTLAND – About 5,300 residents in Cortland and surrounding areas of Bazetta and Mecca lost power a little after 1 p.m. today when a volt breaker was tripped taking out the substation, an Ohio Edison spokesman, Chris Eck said.
The automated device along the service route can be tripped by animals and other causes, the representative said. There were also reports of traffic lights out in the area. Trumbull County 911 had not received any reports except of outages in the Cortland area.
Power at the administration building was restored a little after 2 p.m. today.
