WARREN – Craig Beach police Chief Andrew Soloman is due in Austintown court Monday to answer to a misdemeanor charge of dereliction of duty.

Soloman, 36, of Warren, was arrested Thursday, according to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, which is part of the attorney general’s office, is helping the Mahoning County Sheriffás Office with the investigation, the state office confirmed.

Tribune Chronicle newspartner WKBN 27 reported Soloman was arrested after law enforcement searched the police department on Grandview Road.

He was released Thursday from the Mahoning County Jail on $1,000 bond, jail records show.

A message seeking comment was left with village Mayor Dave Spencer.
