Tue. 11:14 p.m.: Two incumbents, newcomer to serve as Girard council at-large
GIRARD — Two incumbents retained their at-large council seats, but it was a political newcomer who took the most votes and the third seat in general election voting Tuesday in Girard.
Incomplete and unofficial results had first-time candidate William Ryser receiving the most votes in the five-person race for council at-large seats with 27.4 percent; incumbent Lily Martuccio, 25 percent; incumbent John Moliterno, 24 percent; Dan Moadus, 12.8 percent; and Frank Vigarino, 10.7 percent
Ryser, principal at Girard High School, said, “Although I am a newcomer to this, I believe in the city and look forward to working with the city administration, the rest of council and the citizens. I am grateful to have received the support from the community.”
