Wed. 11:50 a.m.: Hamad trial starts today

WARREN – Prosecutors and a defense team for capital murder defendant Nasser Hamad have a pool of 173 people from which to select jurors for the trial that is getting started today.

Ten potential jurors already have been dismissed for medical reasons.

Both sides are questioning potential jurors.

Security is tight inside the Trumbull County Common Pleas Courthouse.

Hamad is facing two counts of aggravated murder that carry the death penalty and six counts of attempted aggravated murder for a shooting that occurred in Howland outside Hamad’s home.

This is a developing story. For more details, check back here or read Thursday’s Tribune Chronicle.
