One injured, one arrested in Warren shooting

WARREN – At least one person was admitted to a local hospital and another taken into custody after reports people in two cars were shooting at each other around 3:30 p.m. today in the area of Brier and Burton streets SE, according to a 911 call summary.

Callers reported hearing between five and 15 gunshots in the area and told dispatchers the gunfire was exchanged between people in a small white Ford and a silver car. One vehicle fled toward Central Parkway, toward Willard PK-8 school, another toward Weathersfield, the report states.

The report states school resource officers were called to meet at Willard PK-8 and kids were called in from a football field until the situation ended. School ends at 3:55 p.m.

One person was being treated for a gunshot wound at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, but was uncooperative when investigators came to interview him or her, the report states.
