Mon. 12:55 p.m.: UPDATE – Police investigating Sharon boy’s death

SHARON, Pa. – A Sharon, Pa., toddler who died last evening after he was found in a Brookfield Township, Ohio, swimming pool has been identified as Annakin Gammon, age 2.

Sharon police Chief Gerald T. Smith said the boy was found unresponsive in the pool on Syme Street, Brookfield. Police had been notified that he and his older brother had wandered off earlier in the day. Crews and neighbors were searching for the children.

A search was conducted today of the boys’ home on Lafayette Avenue in Sharon as part of the ongoing investigation, the chief said. An autopsy is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m. today in Erie.

“This is any parent’s worst nightmare,” Smith said.
