Tues. 1:30 p.m.: Trumbull County Engineer’s Office seeks break from Planning Commission

WARREN – The Trumbull County Engineer’s Office is asking for a legal opinion to see if it must continue offering engineering and survey services to the Trumbull County Planning Commission because of a “multitude of challenges” that have created an “undue burden” on the office, according to a letter Randy Smith, Trumbull County Engineer, submitted today to Trumbull County Commissioners.

Smith asked the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office to examine the Ohio Revised Code to see if it can stop providing the services if Smith believes the office’s resources are being impaired and interfering with the office’s other duties.

This is a developing story, read Wednesday’s Tribune Chronicle for more information on the effects and causes of this request.
