Sat 8:40 pm: Commissioner, chair at odds over planning position

WARREN – The chairman of the Trumbull County Planning Commission Board of Directors pushed back a special meeting scheduled to hire a new planner to give Trumbull County Commissioners time to discuss the county’s finances first.

The board was scheduled to meet Monday to hire a new planner, but Commissioner Frank Fuda asked for a delay. Lewis Kostoff, the chairman, agreed to move the meeting to 1 p.m. Wednesday, but wasn’t happy about the request.

“This has been dragging on too long. We just keep pushing it off, and why? It is just procedural. We went through the proper channels and picked a good candidate. It is the board’s job to vote on this,” Kostoff said.

The three county commissioners serve on the 11-person board.
