Sat. 8:20 pm: Man accused in murder has juvenile record
GIRARD – The man charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of a Warren man whose body was found in a remote area of Bristol was involved in a burglary of a home in Girard from which nine guns and assorted ammunition were taken, according to a police report.
Austin T. Burke, 18, who is accused of killing Kenneth Brandon Sample, 22, was among four people who on Dec. 4, 2014, broke into a home on East Main Street to steal the weapons, the report states.
Burke is being held in the Trumbull County Jail on a $1 million bond set Thursday by Newton Falls Municipal Court Judge Philip M. Vigorito during Burke’s first appearance in court on the murder charge.
Sample’s body was discovered June 15 in a wooded area on Peck Leach Road. He had been shot once in the head.
