Tues. 11:20 a.m.: Brief lockdown cleared at Liberty High School
LIBERTY – A temporary school lockdown at Liberty High School this morning has been lifted after a brief scare involving a suspicious man in the woods near the building.
Police responded to a report of a man wearing camouflage and entering the nearby woods. The school went into lockdown, and police began setting up a perimeter around the school as a precaution. However, the person turned out to be a former student and member of the ROTC who was using the school’s track to prepare for training.
Classes resumed as normal around 11 a.m., according to Superintendent Stan Watson.
