Thurs. 10 a.m.: GM Lordstown adds 5th week to summer shutdown
LORDSTOWN – General Motors is adding another week to the shutdown already planned this summer at the automaker’s local assembly plant.
Production will be down the week of July 17 at the GM Assembly Complex in Lordstown. That is in addition to the regular two-week corporate summer shutdown the last two weeks in June and a two-week shutdown the first two weeks of July previously announced as part of the company’s effort to align production with market demand.
Rob Morales, president, United Auto Workers Local 1714, said the schedule is subject to change.
