Tues. 8 pm: Alumni gear up to watch Penguins play for title

YOUNGSTOWN – Youngstown State University alumni from all over the country will be gathering at watch parties to cheer on YSU as they compete against James Madison University for the national football championship on Saturday.

The Office of Alumni Engagement is hosting free national watch parties in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Las Vegas, New York, Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, Washington D.C. and Massillon.

Catherine Cala, director of YSU Alumni Engagement, said they received a “tremendous response” from alumni.

“Alumni live all over the country and they still maintain a very strong sense of attachment to their alma mater,” she said.

“They’re so excited that we have made it this far. They are ready to show their Penguin pride.”

Along with hosting watch parties, the office also has been rallying community support for the big game.
