WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald J. Trump has taken the oath of office and power has now been officially transferred from outgoing President Barack Obama to the 45th president of the United States.

The oath was issued by U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts Jr.

Trump will now offer his inaugural address.

Moments earlier, Michael Pence, former governor of Indiana, also took his oath as Vice President of the United States.

His oath was followed by a performance of America the Beautiful.
