Tues 5 p.m.: UPDATE: I-76 reopens after closure between Routes 534 and 225
Interstate 76 reopened around 3 p.m. at state Route 534 westbound in Mahoning County and state Route 225 eastbound in eastern Portage County. It had been closed for several hours earlier in the day because a high tension power line was pulled down this morning by a semi tractor trailer. The live wire was left lying across the truck and interstate.
According to a dispatcher from the Ravenna post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Ohio Edison crews were working to remove the live wire. The power company said the road has been closed for several hours.
Tribune Chronicle newspartner WKBN 27 News reported traffic on both Interstate 76 and 80 in Mahoning County was backed up for miles Tuesday afternoon.
