Fri. 9 pm: Niles raid leads to drug arrest

NILES – After investigating drug activity at 178 Royal Mall Drive for more than two months, Niles police today arrested a man on a charge of drug trafficking, according to a news release.

Jaylen Dukes, 24, was arrested during the 8:30 a.m. raid at the house and taken to the Trumbull County Jail, where he is being held on a $5,000 bond, according to jail and court records. Dukes is charged with third-degree felony drug trafficking in Niles Municipal Court, according to court records. He has not entered a plea.

“The Niles Police Department will continue to aggressively remove drug dealers from the city. Our Street Crimes Unit and Drug Unit are actively engaged in ongoing operations, and with the assistance of the Special Response Team, we will maintain our commitment to making your community one that no longer appeals to drug dealers,” police Capt. John Marshall said.
