Mon. 11:59 p.m.: Traffic cleared after truck rolls over
LIBERTY — Traffic is moving again after a portion of Interstate 80 was closed early tonight when a truck rolled over down an embankment.
Reports indicate the vehicle went into an embankment and overturned around 10:20 p.m. Diesel fuel was reported leaking out.
Ohio State Highway Patrol and Girard police were at the scene diverting traffic off I-80 onto Salt Springs Road. Traffic was backed up in the area, with one eastbound lane by 11 p.m. as cleanup continued. Traffic was cleared by midnight.
Troopers remain on the scene and have not yet released how the accident happened and whether the driver was injured.
Thursday morning, another truck carrying gasoline overturned and caught fire near the same area on Interstate 80 near the Belmont Avenue exit. No one was injured by the truck and two cars were destroyed by fire when the truck exploded.
