Thurs. 10:25 pm: Fair board to rebid restroom project
BAZETTA – The Trumbull County Fair Board will be rebidding a new restroom project as board members say all eight bids came in 10 percent higher than the estimated project cost.
Tom Sawyer, a board member and director, said state law allows for rebidding when the bids are 10 percent or more over the estimate.
“We have decided to put it out for rebid and start all over again,” he said.
Bids will be accepted through noon Oct. 18 and then reviewed by the board at its regular meeting Oct. 20 at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds offices.
Sawyer said one bid of $159,000 did not have all the required paperwork.
While the board is waiting for the rebid on the project, the county engineer is going to take down the old restroom on Tuesday morning with a backhoe.
