Sat. 9:15 p.m.: No agreement yet between UAW, General Motors

LORDSTOWN – As the deadline for a new contract between the United Automobile Workers union and General Motors approaches, the two sides had not yet reached a new pact as of Saturday evening.

The current agreement is set to expire at 11:50 p.m. Monday.

Members of UAW Local 1112 and UAW Local 1714, who work at the General Motors Assembly Plant in Lordstown, where the top-selling Chevy Cruze is made, are among some 50,800 UAW members nationwide who were asked last month to vote to give union leadership the ability to call a strike if negotiations stall.
