Mon. 12:20 p.m.: Aqua Pennsylvania lifts water conservation request
BROOKFIELD – Aqua Pennsylvania this morning lifted its water conservation request for customers in the Shenango Valley area in Pennsylvania and parts of Trumbull County.
The request had been instituted Friday after of a crude oil spill impacted a tributary to the Shenango River, the water source for Aqua’s Shenango water treatment plant.
Aqua’s customers in Brookfield, where the spill generated, Hubbard and Hubbard Township were among those impacted.
Aqua said a WaterSmart Alert, automated phone call, to customers was to be issued today to let customers know the conservation request has been lifted.
The Mercer County Emergency Management Agency notified Aqua of the spill around 8 a.m. Friday.
