Wed., 9:25am: Youngstown prison still on lockdown
YOUNGSTOWN — The Northeast Ohio Correctional Center remains on lockdown late this morning.
Reports indicate inmates complained of poor food and guard mistreatment. According to one report, inmates began a hunger strike.
Earlier reports indicated inmates started what had been described as a ”riot” and a ”disturbance.”
The private prison houses approximately 1,500 federal inmates and employs about 400 workers.
