Wed. 12:31 p.m. Commissioners fill two port seats

WARREN – A prominent Warren businessman and local attorney were appointed this morning to fill vacant posts on the Western Reserve Port Authority board of directors.

Trumbull commissioners made official the appointments of Sam Covelli, owner / operator of Covelli Enterprises, and attorney David A. Detec of the Manchester, Newman & Bennett law firm.

The two are filling posts that were vacated with the resignations of Scott Lynn and James Floyd from the port authority board.

The eight-person board oversees operations at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport and has an economic development arm that works to secure projects in the Trumbull and Mahoning county region.

One vacancy created with the recent resignation of Richard Schiraldi remains. It is expected to be filled soon by appointment of the Mahoning County commissioners.
