Fri., 10:14am: FitzGerald restarts campaign
PORT CLINTON – The Democrat running for Ohio governor is back out campaigning after a week that has seen him face questions about his driver’s record and an incident two years ago when police found him in his car with a woman.
Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald will be in Port Clinton, Bowling Green and Lorain on Friday.
Records revealed this week that FitzGerald went without a permanent driver’s license for more than 10 years.
Spokeswoman Lauren Hitt says FitzGerald had scheduled his license renewal several times, but things kept coming up. She says he takes full responsibility.
FitzGerald’s driving record has drawn scrutiny because of a 2012 incident in which police found him in his car with a woman who was not his wife at 4:30 a.m. in suburban Cleveland.
