Tue., 11:59am: Second Warren cab driver robbed at gunpoint

WARREN — For the second time within a week a local cab driver has reported being robbed at gunpoint by a passenger.

Both incidents took place in the area of South Feederle Drive S.E.

This morning, a driver for All American Taxi told police he was robbed. According to a Warren police report, he said he was asked to pick up someone at 2020 S. Feederle around 12:30 a.m. and take the fare to Wal-mart in Bazetta.

However, the passenger got into the back seat and asked the driver to go around the corner and pick up another passenger. At one point the driver noticed that the passenger had a gun. The passenger ordered the driver to give him all the cash. The gunman took off through the area of Burton Street S.E. Police searched the area but we unable to locate anyone.

Last Tuesday, a USA Taxi driver told police he had been robbed for the second time within a month. He told police he believed the same man held him up both times, reports state.

That passenger had wanted dropped off on South Feederle Drive S.E. The driver told police that when he stopped in front of the residence the passenger pulled out a handgun but left it on his lap and said to the driver, “Give me all of your money,” the police report states.
