Mon., 11:15am: Warren man man shot twice in abdomen
WARREN — Police are investigating a Sunday night shooting that left a 24-year-old city man with two gunshot wounds in his abdomen.
Around 11 p.m., police were called to 484 Olive St. N.E., where they found Ishmael J.D. Daniel of 9272 Hillview Drive N.E., inside the residence with a pillow over his stomach, according to a Warren police report. Police said Daniel was conscious and coherent, but in too much pain too give them details about the shooting, the report states.
However, he stated that the shooting took place on Washington Street. Police said they searched that area and found blood on the front walkway of 504 Washington St. N.E. They did not find any shell casings.
Daniel was transported to Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He later told police he did not know who shot him, but that it happened after he left a residence at 539 Washington St. N.E.
Daniel told police that the gunman and gunmen who shot him were in a gray vehicle, possibly a late model Jeep, and he believed the person or persons were white.
