Tues 8:15 am: BP pulling out of Trumbull County
WARREN – BP will drill no further wells in the Utica Shale, the company announced this morning.
The announcement came in a press release during the announcement of its first quarter results.
All of BP’s Utica Shale assets are focused in Trumbull County. The company holds mineral rights to more than 80,000 acres and has drilled 6 horizontal experimental wells here in the last year. Four are producing, but results from those test wells, have been poor.
This is a developing story. More updates will be posted as they become available.
