Thu., 2:27pm: UPDATE Warren officer Krafcik cleared; Taemarr Walker’s companion arrested
WARREN — A Trumbull County grand jury cleared Warren Police Officer Michael Krafcik of any wrongdoing the night he shot a Warren man to death on Risher Road S.W., according to a news release issued Thursday afternoon by Trumbull Prosecutor Dennis Watkins.
Watkins’ opinion also states that the woman who was in a car with Taemarr Walker, 24, the shooting victim, will face a manslaughter and weapons charges.
The female, Regan Jelks, 21, who was in the car with Walker early on Oct. 19 during the confrontation between Krafcik and Walker on Risher Road, has been arrested in Detroit.
She still must be extradited from Michigan.
Video dash cam evidence indicates Walker was armed inside the car where he was shot.
Watkins said he will not have any further comment on the matter until Jelks’ case is concluded.
