Wed. 3:21 p.m.: Police clear Newton Falls school

Police have given the all-clear at Newton Falls junior high / high school after investigating a bomb threat.

The building was evacuated early this morning after a bomb threat in the form of a written message was found on the junior high bathroom wall.

Shortly before 3 p.m., police and a bomb squad cleared the building and found no threats.

Superintendent Paul Woodard said students were evacuated to the other two buildings and parents were alerted that they could pick up their children if they wished.

The building is now locked for the evening and the incident remains under investigation, Woodard said.
