Wed., 1:45 pm: Charges expected to filed today in Girard police case
Girard police said in a news conference this afternoon that charges are expected to be filed today against several males and females who were reportedly drinking alcohol while under the legal age limit and smoking marijuana during a party at Girard police officer Larry Neely’s home on Feb. 8.
Neely, 39, has been on paid administrative leave since Feb. 12.
Girard police Chief Jeff Palmer said Tuesday that criminal and internal investigations into the case are completed, and that investigators were unable to prove that Neely, who was on duty at the time of the parties, had any knowledge of the gathering at his Mosier Road home.
