Fri., 10:55am: UPDATE2 Bristol stabbing victim identified
BRISTOL — The Trumbull County Coroner’s Office this morning confirmed an autopsy on a man fatally stabbed during a bar fight at the Bristol Inn Thursday night is being done this morning.
William J. Helmuth, 45, of North Bloomfield, is charged with murder in the Thursday night death of Craig C. Neighbor, 41, of Bristol at the bar at the corner of state routes 45 and 88.
The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the investigation. Deputies have declined to comment on the case. However, officials at the Trumbull County Jail have confirmed that Helmuth is being held at there.
A 911 spokesman said the stabbing occurred at 8:52 p.m., and a man was taken to the hospital. The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol are working together on what happened between two men who got into an argument inside the establishment.
The victim was transported from the bar at 6233 State Route 45, near the intersection of Route 88, to Trumbull Memorial Hospital where he died.
