Fri., 10:21am: Man accused of shooting at newspaper carrier
COMING IN SATURDAY’S TRIBUNE CHRONICLE:
WARREN — A man accused of shooting at a newspaper delivery man’s vehicle on Thursday is being held at the Trumbull County Jail without bond.
Darren L. Lee, 27, of 1741 West Ave. N.W., is charged with felonious assault, carrying a concealed weapon, having a weapon while under disability and two counts of possession of drugs.
Michael Young, 43, of Warren, told police his vehicle was shot at as he was delivering Tribune Chronicle newspapers in the 1700 block of West Avenue N.W.
The report does not indicate that Young was hurt.
Lee is also facing an additional felonious assault charge in a separate case because Young’s 18-year-old daughter was in the car with him at the time. It is not clear at this time whether she was injured. This morning she and her father told a Tribune Chronicle reporter that they were shaken up but OK.
Young said he does not know Lee and has no idea why he would shoot at him.
Lee was arraigned in Warren Municipal Court. He is due back in municipal court for a preliminary hearing next Thursday at 10:15 a.m.
