Thu., 4:04pm: Hubbard man sentencing for vehicle assault

WARREN — A 22-year-old Hubbard man was sentenced to five years in prison Thursday after a jury found him guilty in October of using a vehicle to commit felonious assault.

Frank Fasline offered an apology to the victim in the case before Judge Ronald Rice handed down the sentence.

He has remained in Trumbull County Jail since a jury took more than four hours before finding Fasline guilty of using his parents’ SUV to try and run over a Sharpsville, Pa., man outside a bar in the fall of 2012.

He was also found guilty of tampering with evidence after he took the damaged SUV to a friend’s house and the vehicle was hidden in woods behind the home.

Capperes and his wife both testified how he spent four days in St. Elizabeth Health Center and months in physical therapy for injuries to his knee, shin and back.
