Mon. 1:43 p.m.: UPDATE Body identified in Howland
HOWLAND – The Ohio State Patrol’s Warren Post in Southington has identified the body of a woman discovered this morning in a drainage ditch along King Graves Road.
Troopers at the OSP Warren Post in Southington said they believe Antoinette M. Ross, 55, of Howland, was walking along the road when she was struck by a car sometime between 9 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday in the 9500 block.
She was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Trumbull County Morgue.
Passing motorists reported the matter to law enforcement Monday morning after seeing Ross’ body lying in the ditch.
Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
However, a search warrant has been obtained for a vehicle of interest, they reported. They also said forensic evidence is being analyzed and will be forwarded to the OSP crime lab for analysis.
