Thu. 1:20 p.m.: Fire crews called to vacant house
WARREN – Fire crews were called to a fire this morning at a vacant house on Front Street S.W.
Officials said flames were contained quickly. The fire started around 8:55 a.m. on the first floor in the back of the house but spread to the second floor of the two-story wood frame structure, they said.
No injuries were reported. Officials said the house, which was boarded up, had been vacant for some time. The cause is under investigation. Officials estimated the structure sustained about $20,000 in damage.
City records show that the house is owned by Phyllis Ewing of Canfield.
