Sat 8:36pm: NM authorities: 2 boys from youth camp back home

HILLSBORO, N.M. – New Mexico police said today that two of the nine teenagers reported missing from a rural ranch for troubled youth are back with their parents.

Authorities have removed the two boys from an Amber Alert. They say progress is being made regarding the status of the other missing boys.

A search warrant was executed Friday at the Tierra Blanca High Country Youth Program as part of an investigation of abuse. The teens weren’t at the 30,000-acre compound in Sierra County and neither was program operator Scott Chandler. Authorities consider him a person of interest.

The Albuquerque Journal reported authorities investigated claims about beatings at the unlicensed program. Chandler denied the teenagers have been harmed.

Ranch attorney Pete Domenici Jr. said today that all of the teenagers are safely with parents.
